About the Transfer

IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT is presented in its original aspect ratio of 1.85:1. Black bars at the top and bottom of the screen are normal for this format. This new digital transfer was created in 4K resolution on a DFT Scanity film scanner from the original 35mm camera negative at Deluxe in Culver City, California. The restoration was done by Park Circus and MGM, with additional restoration work done by the Criterion Collection. Dolby Vision HDR grading was done in Germany at LSP Medien.
