Synopsis:
The dashing Serge Chekov (Stelvio Rosi) travels to the castle of his deceased uncle, whom he hardly knew. Before he even arrives, he discovers the body of his cousin dangling from a tree in the cemetery. He thus unexpectedly becomes the sole heir to the fortune, but the greedy widow of the deceased (Maria Pia Conte), who practises black magic, does not hesitate to use her feminine charms to win Serge over. But then more dead bodies turn up. And what do the shady scientist Professor Droila (Gérard Tichy) and the strange gravedigger Igor (Paul Naschy) have to do with all this?
The Hanging Woman is a Spanish horror film that, contrary to the spirit of the times, relies less on drastic effects and more on the atmosphere of the works of Hammer Studios. With the ‘Spanish werewolf’ Paul Naschy in a significant supporting role.
