Beautiful journalist Rebecca Stephens (Michelle McBride, SUBSPECIES) sneaks into a costume ball hosted by the mysterious Ludwig (Herbert Lom, MARK OF THE DEVIL, COUNT DRACULA) using a forged invitation. There, she encounters her former lover Max (Simon Poland, OMEGA DOOM). The evening at the castle begins with a terrifying scream. Together, they set out to discover its source — a search that will only end at daybreak, when Ludwig’s heavy, time-locked metal gate finally opens. But not before the guests are murdered one by one in gruesome, bloody fashion.

Never has the work of Edgar Allan Poe been brought to the screen more effectively than in Alan Birkinshaw’s chilling 1989 film THE MASQUE OF THE RED DEATH, a journey into the darkest depths of madness.
