Together with his lover Francine and their young daughter Leslie, the internationally highly respected conductor Maurice travels to Spoleto, where he wants to present his latest work to the public at a festival. But what counts for him is not the upcoming performance, but rather the almost incestuous relationship with his beautiful daughter. Having arrived in the breathtaking location, the curious ballerina Leslie soon meets the sensitive artist Brian, who wins the girl's heart in no time. A situation that doesn't suit the older Maurice at all, which is why he's not above scheming, no matter how vicious, to ruthlessly destroy Leslie's feelings.
