Pam Grier plays Sheba Shayne, a private detective from Chicago who is called back to her hometown to stop the local mafia boss from interfering in her father's loan business. With the help of her father's partner, Brick, Sheba quickly discovers that the violent thugs will not give up without a fight. Car bombs, shootouts and water chases ensue as Sheba, armed with her charms, her wits and a .44 calibre weapon, heads for a bloodbath!

After her legendary roles in ‘Coffy’ and ‘Foxy Brown,’ Pam Grier returned to pure blaxploitation in William Girdler's cult film ‘Sheba, Baby.’ The Los Angeles Times described Grier as ‘cool, tough and glamorous – a female fantasy Wonder Woman,’ cementing her status as the first female action star.
