The mysterious planet Rheton has the ability to move through space to escape enemies. When a spaceship sent from Earth lands on it, astronaut Chapman breathes in the atmosphere, causing him to shrink enormously. He discovers that beings of his current size, led by Sessom, have converted the planet into a spaceship to defend themselves against the Solarites – giant monsters who want to enslave the dwarf people. Chapman helps them in their fight against their enemies and in the end has to leave the mute Zetha, who has fallen in love with him, behind.
