Mutant alert! A terrorist group of militant freaks strikes again and again. Their ruthless and brutal targets: the rich and beautiful, gyms, doctors, sperm banks... anything that promotes human enhancement and beauty. The seven-strong anarchist group consists of the disfigured leader Ramón; the Siamese twins Alex and Juan; César Ravenstein, who has an explosive implant in his chest; José, who has multiple convictions; the deaf and mentally challenged Gonzales; and the hunchbacked dwarf Montero. Their latest plan is to kidnap the daughter of a wealthy industrialist, but Ramón's greed soon leads him to want to get rid of the rest of the gang. The subsequent escape, including a crash landing on the planet Axturias, which is populated by perverted lunatics, then gets completely out of hand...

Alex de la Iglesia's darkly humorous, over-the-top debut film — produced by maestro Pedro Almodóvar — is revered by many as a cult classic because it crosses taste boundaries, combining sci-fi and comic elements with social and media criticism, genre caricature and bloody splatter. Action Mutante, which celebrates its German-language UHD and Blu-ray premiere with this edition, was Álex de la Iglesia's prelude to a series of cult films, followed by El Día de la Bestia and Perdita Durango, among others.
