Synopsis: During excavations in an ancient catacomb system beneath the Eternal City, archaeology professor Lasky discovers a sealed chamber that has remained untouched for centuries. But the researchers’ curiosity comes at a deadly price: vibrations from nearby subway construction reveal a hidden passage and awaken an ancient, malevolent entity from its slumber. What begins as a scientific sensation quickly turns into a bloody nightmare. An unseen horror starts to decimate the members of the team one by one in terrifying ways. In the labyrinthine tunnels beneath Rome, there is no escape from the forces of evil whose only goal is to drag the living down into their dark realm.
