Susan Webster is drawn from idyllic country life to the big city. She is overjoyed when she meets the charming Larry Reed. They marry head over heels, but through him Susan falls straight into the clutches of the white slave pimp Bruhl. When Susan's brother Scot goes looking for her, he is framed by Bruhl and sentenced to death. He leaves his brain to the shady Dr Parry for scientific purposes.
Some time later, Bruhl's gangsters start to fall victim to a mysterious killer who leaves their bodies crushed. Could Scott have kept his promise and taken revenge in the realm of the dead on the men who destroyed his life and that of his sister?
The Monster and the Girl is a surprising mixture of film noir drama and horror film, directed by Stuart Heisler and featuring a remarkable cast led by Ellen Drew, Paul Lukas and George Zucco.
