Synopsis:
Venice – the city of love, gondolas and romantic dreams. But behind its fog-shrouded canals, horror lurks.
When sculptor Franco Serpieri looks forward to welcoming his young daughter Roberta for a carefree visit, he has no idea that his life is about to turn into a living nightmare. Suddenly, the child disappears. Shortly afterwards, Roberta is found dead.
Desperate, Franco begins searching for the murderer himself. His investigation leads him into a labyrinth of lies, dark secrets and the darkest depths of human nature. Everyone seems to be hiding something, and no one is above suspicion. And the closer Franco gets to the truth, the clearer it becomes: The killer is closer than he ever dared to imagine.
Aldo Lado directs THE CHILD, a chilling thriller filled with dark imagery, sinister suspects and an atmosphere that envelops the viewer like an icy fog. Accompanied by Ennio Morricone's unsettling score, romantic Venice becomes the setting for terror.
