Mel Welles' masterpiece of Gothic horror is one of the most popular adaptations of the Frankenstein saga. However, very few people have seen it in the version that Welles originally created. Immediately after its premiere, the film was shortened and censored, so that after a short time no complete version existed. Most prints are missing about 15 minutes.
After years of searching in archives around the world, we are very proud to present LADY FRANKENSTEIN for the first time in its original, unabridged version. More than 40 years after its premiere, the film has been reconstructed and now once again corresponds to Welles' original vision. In this complete version, LADY FRANKENSTEIN can finally take its rightful place among the great horror classics.
